BMU Systems

Select Roofing’s Safe Access Division is a partner company of GPBMU, the Spanish-based world leader in providing BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) systems.

Our BMU Systems are mounted permanently at roof level and provide the most complete and safest form of suspended Building Access System, providing full horizontal, vertical and lateral movement of the working platform.

Video above shows a BMU System being load tested before being installed on site. This procedure is carried out with every BMU System we provide.

The cradles attached have a typical working load limit of 250kg, although systems that accommodate additional loads can also be developed.

We offer a range of BMU machines that can either be fixed position or else running on anchored or free-laid tracks. We also provide trackless machines that can travel on a concrete surface without a guide rail, allowing a terrace area to be used for pedestrian access.

Our BMU systems are produced in accordance with the following regulations:

  • Quality Management Systems – ISO 9001:2000
  • European Standard for machinery 2006/42/EC
  • European Standard safety requirements on Suspended Access Equipment EN 1808:2000+A1:2010
  • Safety of Machinery – Electricl equipment on machines – EN 60204-1
  • Hot-dip galvanised coating on fabricated iron and steel articles (ISO 1461:2010)
  • Specification and approval of welding procedures for metallic materials (EN-1 & EN-288-2)
  • Declaration of conformity 2006/42/EC
